Today we began our discussion of fallacious arguments by considering such fallacies as,

  • Appeal to Pity
  • Appeal to the Masses
  • Appeal to (Inappropriate) Authority
  • Appeal to Force
  • Hasty Generalization
  • Complex Question
  • False Dilemma
  • Argument from Ignorance
  • Argument from Bare Possibility
  • Sorites (Slippery Slope)

We have more to consider besides these, so we will continue this discussion next time. We're running a bit behind, but I don't want to adjust our schedule just yet to see if we can make up some lost time next week. That said, I'm not wedded to our schedule. We can adjust as need be. What's important is to be sure that you follow our discussions as best you can.
