Of Bad Apples, Bad Barrels, and Bad Barrel Makers
Using a well-chosen example of human evil (one neither discussed in his TED talk nor in our class meeting--there are many historical and present examples from which to choose!), explain each of the seven steps to evil Zimbardo describes in his TED talk on the slide entitled "Seven Social Processes that Grease the Slippery Slope to Evil". Do these seven processes or steps explain how circumstances can lead otherwise normal individuals to becoming evil, given your example? If so, how? If not, what more is needed to fully explain how circumstances give rise to becoming evil?
